Synopsis
Centaurworld is a colourful Netflix animated series that follows Horse, a brave warhorse from a battle-scarred world, who is magically transported to a whimsical land filled with singing, dancing, and eccentric half-animal, half-human creatures called centaurs. As Horse embarks on a journey to find her rider and return home, she learns to embrace friendship, vulnerability, and the power of joy in this imaginative blend of humour, heart, and musical adventure.
In Season 2, Brian d’Arcy James voices the General, a commanding and deeply loyal military leader from Horse’s original war-torn world. As the Rider’s steadfast ally, he represents the disciplined, battle-hardened mindset that contrasts sharply with the whimsical nature of Centaurworld. His presence underscores the show’s central tension between war and peace, fear and hope, as he becomes a symbol of the sacrifices and strength that defined Horse’s past.
Reviews
“The animation is gorgeous, with a beautiful, subtle difference between the sharp lines and more ‘serious’ style of the human world Horse is from …”
Polygon
“Centaurworld’s animation is great. Horse’s war-torn homeworld is designed like an action anime and animated with near movie-level fluidity.”
CBR
“Every frame of Centaurworld buzzes with visual and comic energy … It’s also an epic, often funny, often moving family musical … a chosen-family story about a merry herd of misfits.”
