Synopsis
Consumed by ambition and spurred on by a chilling prophecy, Scottish general Macbeth murders his king to seize the throne. As guilt and paranoia take hold, he and Lady Macbeth spiral into madness, haunted by the ghosts of their own making. Set within a dark, ritualistic world of shadow and illusion, this Lincoln Center production directed by Jack O’Brien transformed Shakespeare’s tragedy into a sweeping, nightmarish spectacle blending bold visuals, unsettling soundscapes and commanding performances.
