Synopsis
13 Reasons Why is a Netflix drama series that begins with the mysterious suicide of high school student Hannah Baker. In the first season, her classmate Clay Jensen receives a box of cassette tapes recorded by Hannah before her death. Each tape reveals one of the thirteen reasons, and people, she holds responsible for the events that led to her decision. As Clay listens, he uncovers painful truths about his classmates and the culture of secrecy, bullying, and trauma within their school.
Later seasons expand the story to explore the aftermath of Hannah’s death, the community’s struggle for accountability, and the continued impact of loss and guilt on the surviving characters.
